Pick dimensions for the destination
For an online album, try a 1,600-pixel box for a useful starting point. A landscape photo might become 1,600 × 1,067 pixels; a portrait photo might become 1,067 × 1,600. This tool fits the entire image inside the box without cropping or stretching it.
What happens to your original?
Your original file is unchanged. Downloading creates a new copy, and smaller images are never enlarged. JPG exports use a white background where the source has transparency. PNG preserves transparency, and its file size is not affected by the quality selector.
Exports are redrawn from decoded pixels; source EXIF metadata is not copied. Color appearance can vary by browser. Keep the original for printing or archiving, and inspect the exported copy before sharing sensitive photographs.
Resize before you arrange
Once your photos are ready, use the contact sheet maker to see them together, or try a photo album outline to organize the story.
